Marko Grubačić has been working at the Department of Oriental Studies at the Faculty of Philology, University od Belgrade since 2009, and is currently holding a position of an Assistant Professor in Japanology.
He was born in Belgrade in 1979, where he completed his primary and secondary education.
He graduated from the Department of Sculpture at the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Arts, Belgrade in 2004.
He has completed his Master studies in the field of Library and Information Studies in 2008 by defending his thesis entitled “Bibliography of Works on Buddhist Art”.
In 2014, he earned a PhD in Japanology by defending his thesis entitled “Art and Society in Upheaval – Japanese Avant-Garde in the 60’s and the 70’s”
He was awarded the Scholarship for young Talents by the Serbian National Employment Agency and the Japanese ITO Foundation Scholarship for International Education Exchange. He has conducted research at the Faculty of Intercultural Communication at Hosei University in Tokyo, Japan, and participated in various international conferences, professional education courses and seminars.
